From Pakistan, Tahira trained as a GP in Karachi before moving to Aotearoa to make it her second home. During her time in NZ she has worked across the North Island and is now pursing her fellowship under the RNZCGP.

As a mother of three children, Tahira has hands on experience working with children and young people. She has a special interest in women's health, and being a female herself, has a genuine empathy and understanding of the physical and emotional challenges experienced by our wahine.

Tahira is also trained as a Panel Physician for Immigration New Zealand and enjoys working with a culturally and clinically diverse population.

Outside of work Tahira loves spending time with her children - walks, table discussions, house chores, arts and board games.

I am a big advocate of health equity. I enjoy engaging with and providing my patients with simple explanations of their medical conditions. In turn this helps them make informed choices about their health and creates a sense of empowerment.
